Job purpose
Software quality assurance engineers and testers oversee the quality of a piece of software’s development over its entire life cycle. Your goal is to see to it that the final product meets the customer’s requirements and expectations in both performance and value. During the software life cycle, you verify that it is possible for the software to accomplish certain tasks. You detect problems that exist in the product itself.
Main responsibilities
- Develop deep understanding of the currently employed technologies, data models, application functionality and development process
- Participate in full cycle development of components
- Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints
- Assess and advise with best practices for enhancing application quality in terms of development process, release, and support
- Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments
- Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action
- Create / maintain databases of known test defects
- Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures
- Design / develop automated testing tools
